Earning your stripes

I am of opinion that there truly exist some people, to whom everything in life comes very easily. Frightening as it is, it's even harder to diagnose the reasons here for. It's not necessarily an abundance of wealth or beauty, but rather some sort of a inner repelling mechanism. This mechanism allows the holder to somehow repel anything bad from ever happening to them! The result is that they seamlessly glide through life...

Let me give you a example of this: Jane is born naturally blonde, tall, thin and gorgeous. She's smart and likeable, sensible and very popular. She achieves A-grades without too much trouble, she's never had to diet, she meet one great guy after another and she's always happy!

I seams impossible, but I have experienced first hand-these people do exist! Someway somehow it all just goes right for them and life is always their oyster.

The first instinct we might have when coming across these creatures, it jealousy! Be not afraid, we are all distant relatives of Eve and to lust after something is in our blood! Just imagine how happy you'd be if you "had it all"???

But I have to wonder...is it really all that? This might be the oldest possible cliché, but is it not our hardships and worries that shape the people we are? Would I really appreciate anything as much if I did not sweat blood and tears and work my ass of for it? Was the best part of achieving not the journey rather than the destination?

There is more to us than we know!! We just need the right circumstances, hard as they may be, to bring forth our inner warriors! You'll never be a fighter until you fight for something, you'll never be a survivor until you've hit rock bottom...and survived!
Would you be as close to your friends if you never shared hard times?
You can't have the t-shirt before you've been there and done that? Can you?

The late great Winston Churchill said these simple words: "never, never, never give up!"
Nobody will ever say that it's enjoyable or fun to suffer. It's not. But the silver lining is in the facts that one day the clouds will clear. And when they do...aaaah just think...
